The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Ukraine Mr. Manondzh Kumar Bharti has visited Poltava on the 20th of May 2016.
Mr. Ambassador has visited the city council, regional state administration, Poltava Chamber of Commerce.
According to local media, one of the most important area of discussion at the meeting was education. Population of India is 1.5 billion people nowadays. Most of them – young people. They are seeking for quality education and good career prospects. Indian students in Ukraine acquire medical and economic education. The Ambassador noted that Ukraine has made a significant contribution to the development of facilities for the modern professional education and best study abroad programs for India’s citizens. It will strengthen friendly relationship and mutually beneficial contacts in both countries.
Mr. Ambassador was also speaking about the internship program of the Government of India – «ITEC» – during the meetings with local government. It has dozens of different areas and provides in-country staying from 2 to 16 weeks. He also was speaking about the system of scholarships and grants for Ukrainian students, there are more than 40 types of it.
Among the other things tourism was discussed. Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti said that Indians are fond of traveling very much. Therefore, cooperation in tourism will provide an opportunity for the India’s citizens to expand their geography of travel and for Ukraine – to understand the needs of their guests much better.
The Ambassador also offered to conduct in Poltava The International Day of Yoga, as well as National festivals and Indian Film Festival.
